Background of Herbalist Carol Rogers

Carol has been in practice as a medical herbalist for 20 years, has wide experience of treating many health complaints, and is particularly well known for her treatment of women’s health conditions with herbs.

Carol graduated from the three year full-time course at School of Herbal Medicine, Kent, U.K. in 1987. Trained in both modern medical diagnostic skills and botanical medicine, she has also completed a long clinical training. Since then she has been a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (Est. 1864), which sets and regulates standards of education and practice. Previously she was awarded BSc (Hons) in Social Sciences from Leicester University.

After clinical hours spent with a herbalist specialising in women’s health, she went on to develop a strong interest in the area, and has successfully helped many women’s health problems.

Active in the promotion of natural health for women, she has given public lectures on herbs, written for professional journals and in health magazines, and has been the subject of articles in the popular press. She has contributed to The Endometriosis Society and The National Childbirth Trust. Following publication of “The Women’s Guide to Herbal Medicine”, Hamish Hamilton, 1998, described as “the definitive guide to herbal medicine for women” she featured on radio and television. The book is widely used by the public and students alike and has been made available on this website as a free publication.

After many years of running her own independent practice in Glasgow, in the last four years she has joined Napiers Herbal Health Care, Glasgow, where as well as general practice, she runs the Well Woman and Menopause Clinic.

Other professional pursuits include teaching BSc undergraduates in herbal medicine and National Institute of Medical Herbalists post-graduate training.
